  • How do I prepare for a hypnosis session?
Make sure you are in a safe, quiet place throughout the session, with no interruptions. Make this your sacred moment if you wish; you may light a candle or put on some nice scent that you like. You can sit comfortably on a chair or lay down on a bed/couch/yoga mat. If you're laying down try to have a gentle pillow under your head and a blanket in case you get cold. When it’s time to dive into the session, I will ask you to place your computer, tablet, or cellphone in a way that I can at least see your upper body and face. I ask you this because I like to connect with your aura (energetic field) and body as we journey through your session. Please make sure to have a light meal and water/drinks at least an hour prior to your session. You may go to the bathroom before beginning your journey. If in any case you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the session, you can perfectly and safely use it.
  • Will hypnosis work for me if I follow a specific religion/cultural tradition?
Of course! Our work together is held in a safe non-judgemental space. In our first call we will get to know each other and you can share with me your beliefs and your view of the world so we can begin your healing journey from a place of knowledge and respect. Remember, this is YOUR journey, so my work adapts to YOU. Hypnosis is rooted in science AND in spirituality. But most importantly, it is YOU who gives this experience a personal meaning.
  • Do I have to speak during the session? If so, do I have to share it all with you?
First of all, there are no “should's” in our work together. Even though it is helpful if you shared what you are experiencing in order to make the session personalised and deeply focused for you, this is YOUR healing journey and we’ll find a method that feels safe and nourishing for you. In our first session pre-talk we will discuss your personal preferences and concerns about this topic. It's important to know that you only share what you are comfortable sharing with me.
  • When is it NOT recommended to receive hypnosis?
People with certain mental conditions (ie. Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder) are recommended to abstain from receiving hypnosis sessions and should definitely consult with a licensed professional / therapist if hypnosis is advisable as a complimentary help. I am not prepared nor trained to practice hypnosis on people with these types of conditions.
  • Addressing Hypno-Myths: "Can I get stuck in hypnosis?", "Can my mind be controlled while I'm in hypnosis?", "Can you make me do things I don't want to while in hypnosis?", "Can I mess up the session/do it all wrong?"
    a. "Can I get stuck in hypnosis?" Hypnosis feels like a very gentle and vivid guided meditation. You will be able to talk, answer questions, follow my guidance, scratch your belly if it's itchy, go to the bathroom if you need to, move your body in order to get more comfortable, etc... Coming out of hypnosis is very soft, effortless, and relaxing, and it feels just like coming out of a deep meditation state. b. "Can my mind be controlled while I'm in hypnosis?" / "Can you make me do things I don't want to while in hypnosis?" Hypnosis is FAR AWAY from mind control! You have complete control over your body and your words. You will be able to communicate your needs and preferences with me. During the session you can always choose which information you would like to share with me or keep to yourself. I cannot make you do anything that goes against your ethics and moral principles. I will always be asking you and checking in with how how safe and comfortable you feel about sharing certain information. You can always say "I would like to keep that to myself". Hypnosis only works if you want it to. c. "Can I mess up the session/do it all wrong?" You can't mess it up or do it wrong! There's no right way to experience hypnosis, and no right/wrong thing to say and experience. All that comes up is welcome, all that comes up is supposed to be unraveled and seen. Trust the process. Everything you see, hear, touch, smell, taste, and feel during the session (and after) is perfect and normal.
